An Innovative Life Sciences Project along the Kips Bay Health and Science Corridor

Located at 455 First Avenue in Manhattan, Innovation East will redevelop the site of the former NYC Public Health Laboratory into a state-of-the-art life sciences center, anchored by the NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

Overview

Coming soon to Kips Bay: a modern life sciences hub driving the future of innovation. Designed to enhance the neighborhood with improved public spaces, Innovation East will expand STEM opportunities, expand the life sciences industry in NYC, and create new jobs for New Yorkers in emerging scientific fields.

Our Mission

The 500,000-SF project, to be developed by Taconic Partners and DivcoWest in collaboration with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, will help to foster a vibrant research ecosystem in Kips Bay. It will also bring an array of benefits to the economy and community, including the creation of construction jobs and the potential creation of more than 1,000 permanent jobs ranging in different skills and education levels. The facility, targeting a LEED Gold certification, will also include partnerships with local K-12 schools, colleges, and nonprofit organizations to promote access to career pathways in the life sciences sector.
